The Ideas for Bornova from Interior Architecture and Environmental Design students
The second year students of Department of Interior Architecture and Environmental Design, Faculty of Fine Arts and Design, Izmir University of Economics (IUE) reconsidered the Yeşilova Mound Visitor Center, which is founded and conducted by Archeologist Dr. Zafer Derin and designed by Architect Evren Başbuğ as a research / resting space for archeology students. A living unit within the context of this project is defined as, a space in which units ten students can live and work and which includes working, resting, eating, and wet allocation spaces. The living unit is designed with 2D and 3D moduls and includes socialization spaces such as, kitchen, library, and study spaces for students.
The first phase of the project started with the presentations of Zafer Derin and Evren Başbuğ, a field trip, and a workshop that is realize with Prof. Kaname Yanagisawa, Head of Department of Architecture, Chiba University at Japan and his students. The team that is coordinate by Assoc. Prof. Deniz Hasırcı and lecturer Silvia Rolla included lecturers; Başak Zeynep Edes, Mahmut Haluk Tatari, İdil Orlin Pontremoli, Selin Anal, Res. Asst. İdil Bakır Küçükkaya and the studio assistants Oğul Görgülü and Ezgi Çakın. 72 Projects were created in this studio and 6 of these projects are exhibited.
The project team and 6 students were awarded by the Mayor of Bornova Municipality Olgun Atila at the opening ceremony of the 5 th Design exhibition of BİF (THE IDEAS FOR BORNOVA), which will be exhibited between 01 March 2019 and 08 April 2019.
