We hacked Atlas Global cabin crew's style...
The cabin crew uniform design competition, sponsored by Atlasglobal and Hugo Boss, brought together the students from Izmir University of Economics and Dokuz Eylul University. The competition is organized with the aim of creating innovative designs, which challenge the standard approaches on uniform designs for cabin uniforms. In the competition where both universities participated with 12 students in total, İzmir University of Economics is represented by Begüm Yazar, Hilal Karakaş, Mary Zamani, Melissa Deniz Dungan Jr., Seda Özkaynaklar and Yaren Eren from Izmir University of Economics Fashion and Textile Design Department.
The winner of the competition determined by the jury on November 7, 2018, was Yaren Eren who is İzmir University of Economics, 3rd Grade Fashion and Textile Design and she was entitled to dress up Atlasglobal cabin crew with her designs. Also, she will visit the Hugo Boss headquarters in Metzingen to meet with the company’s design team; and one year unlimited free flights with Atlasglobal Airlines in Business Class (together with a companion).
Two-week long design marathon started with the briefing meeting, which is held in Hugo Boss Company, located on Aegean Free Zone. During the meeting, the participants were informed about Atlasglobal’s corporate mission, vision and brand identity; working conditions of cabin crew and technical requirements about uniforms. After the tour introducing Hugo Boss production facilities, they participated to a seminar entitled “Design Thinking”.
On October 30, 12 young designers traveled to Istanbul with Atlasglobal Airlines and had the opportunity to observe the cabin crew during flight. In Istanbul, they met with the head brand manager of Atlasglobal Airlines, Nisa Ersoy to share their experience on board.
On November 5 and 6, the designers were hosted in Hugo Boss production facilities for 48 hours to design new outfits, which correspond to the needs of cabin crew and brand identity of Atlasglobal.
We would like to congratulate our student Yaren Eren with heartfelt and proud and wish her success…
