THE ROLE OF PARK DESIGN IN REDUCE VANDALISM BEHAVIOR

Vandalism behavior is a social problem in towns. Parks are element of cities that are attacked by vandals. Those are public capital and the cost of vandalism to the park is too high. A tremendous amount of money and effort has been put into fixing up park’s equipment and vandalism nullifies it all. Vandalism wastes the resources that were originally put into renovations and then necessitates even more resources in order to deal with it.

From the aesthetics aspect, whatever the environment is more beautiful, automatically people are more influenced by that and try to keep it .The purpose of designer should be that not to increase incentive vandalism behavior. Confront the vandalism supplicant to use appropriate designing in company with previous recognition social structural.

In this paper we try to find the effects of urban design on vandalism behavior and how designer can reduce the vandalism behavior motive. This study is studied in according to two approaches (urban designing, urban management). In designing approach the principles of designing were considerated and in urban management approach we regarded the interventive factors that increase incentive such this behavior contrary to appropriate designing.
