TEMPORALITY: SYNERGY OF SECULAR LIFE AND ARCHITECTURAL DESIGN
This proposal is discussing the synergy of architectural design and secular life by the help of the term “temporality” under the context of architecture and design.
Temporality has been defined by Martin Heidegger and Jean Paul Sartre in their publications. By the help of these philosophers’ discourses, architectural temporality refers to “a good secular life style formation bordered with a duration in present time which is a relative of its formation”. Under the light of this exposition, temporality will be explained and deliberated theoretically. The comparison of everyday life and architecture is going to be investigated with the philosophical pronunciation. The influences of changing time and conditions of everyday life is going to be associated with the changing of architectural discourses. The philosophical view will be merged by some buildings which are built in recent years.
These architectural buildings will be examined with the relationship of secular life and temporality as the practising part of this article.
