“Myths&Beings” Workshop
Izmir University of Economics, Visual Communication Design Department organizes workshops every semester hosting internationally renowned designers. In the 2016-2017 Academic Year fall semester this traditional VCD workshop was run by Onur Can Çaylı. Visual Communication Design students from all years of the undergraduate program worked with the artist Onur Can Çaylı for the workshop titled “Myths&Beings”. Students picked and designed mythological characters based on the stories and descriptions from the “Book of Imaginary Beings” by Jorge Luis Borges. During the three-day workshop, students created sketches and illustrations using traditional drawing and digital coloring techniques to develop their final poster designs.
