THE EVALUATION OF PLANNING AND ORGANIZATION PROCESSES OF TEMPORARY HOUSING RECONSTRUCTION AFTER DUZCE EARTHQUAKE TURKEY

The awareness about the gap between temporary housing reconstruction and planning is increasing. This study examines the relation between planning and organisational structure of temporary housing reconstruction in Turkey, a developing country which is affected by the devastating 17 August and 12 September 1999 earthquakes.  Importance of temporary housing analyzed based on the planning of the earthquake housing site, production, demolition and re-use of the temporary houses and   usage of the earthquake housing site in experience of Düzce earthquake. A public survey is applied to the temporary housing residents in order to analyse their expectation level from the temporary houses and housing site. The user’s problems tried to be found out as well. The results of the evaluation of the temporary housing reconstruction will give design tools for future disasters.
