DESIGN AS AN ELEMENT OF BUSINESS ADVERTISING - A CASE STUDY

Can design be used as an element of business advertising? Companies use business advertising to reach people who buy or specify goods and services for business use. There are three types of business advertising; trade, professional and agricultural. This paper aims to give answers to the question of how design works as an element of business advertising process, what are the functions and effects of design in business advertising. A design project which is developed only for the purpose of business advertising is given as a case study. This project was carried out with the collaboration of Yeditepe University, the Department of Industrial Design and a plyboard production company- Pelit Arslan which doesn’t have design in its production process. The design process beginning from the development of idea to the exhibition of the products of student projects made from plyboard is explained in details in this paper.
